ETC understands that every mind learns differently

We provide alternative educational programs in order to meet our students’
individual learning needs. Our staff specializes in offering students and families
a full range of instructional services to 1st through 12th grade students, delivered
in a personal, customized, positive 1:1 or small group environment. We are a fully
accredited, non-profit organization and are approved as a state of Washington Non-Public
agency allowing school districts to contract with us for services to specialized
students. For over 28 years ETC has been dedicated to helping students of all ages
and abilities become confident, independent and lifelong learners.
Here are the services we provide:
- Tutoring: Students engage in tutoring/supplemental instruction throughout
the academic year. This program includes single subjects, on-task practice, organization
habits, test-taking practice and executive skill function.
- Full time and part time courses for credit: Full time options allow students
to graduate from ETC Preparatory Academy. Students may also earn core or elective
credit classes at ETC Preparatory Academy while maintaining part time enrollment
at their home schools. Our curricula encompass AP and Honors level classes as well
as alternative instruction for students with special learning needs.
- SAT, ACT and ISEE and AP exam prep: Personalized test preparation is offered
1:1 or in small groups throughout the year Mock tests are a part of the preparation.
- Speech and language therapy: Provided by licensed/certified Speech and Language
Pathologists, we provide individualized support in language evaluation, articulation,
expressive/receptive language development, reading comprehension/literacy development
and social skill development..
- Advocacy/Consulting: Consultation with an ETC coordinator is the cornerstone
of every ETC program. Coordinators work closely with families to evaluate students’
learning needs, design individualized learning programs, advise on school placement
decisions and monitor progress.
